How It Works: Spotify’s New CLI Tool
To create your own personalized podcast, users need to use AI programming agents such as OpenAI’s Codex, Anthropic’s Claude Code, or OpenClaw. Spotify provides a new command-line interface (CLI) tool, currently in beta, available on GitHub. After logging into their Spotify account, users can instruct these agents with prompts like, “Build me an audio session about the history of the World Cup.” The agent will then generate a podcast from the requested data and add it to the user's private Spotify library.

These custom podcasts are visible only to the creator in their library, making it easy to listen to personalized content such as study summaries, schedule briefings, or any other tailored information. Users also receive a direct link to their newly created podcast on Spotify for quick access.
