ScaleOps Raises $130M to Boost Computing Efficiency as AI Demand Grows
Solving Inefficiencies in Compute Resource Management
As artificial intelligence fuels ever-increasing demand for computational resources, many companies are struggling with underused GPUs, excessive over-provisioning, and rising cloud costs. ScaleOps, a startup founded in 2022, addresses this by offering fully autonomous software that dynamically manages and reallocates computing resources in real time.
Major Investment and Rapid Growth
ScaleOps announced a $130 million Series C funding round at an $800 million valuation, led by Insight Partners with participation from existing backers like Lightspeed Venture Partners, NFX, Glilot Capital Partners, and Picture Capital. The company claims its technology can reduce cloud and AI infrastructure expenses by up to 80%.
The Technology Behind ScaleOps
Co-founder and CEO Yodar Shafrir identified a major gap while working at GPU orchestration startup Run:ai. He noticed DevOps teams were burdened with manual management and static configurations of tools like Kubernetes, often leading to inefficiencies and performance problems. Existing solutions mostly provided visibility, but not real-time, actionable management.
ScaleOps' platform bridges this gap by connecting application requirements to infrastructure resources autonomously, and operates out of the box without manual setup. It adjusts to the dynamic nature of today’s workloads, distinguishing itself from other players such as Cast AI, Kubecost, and Spot.
Global Customers and Future Plans
Headquartered in New York, ScaleOps serves large enterprises worldwide, including Adobe, Wiz, DocuSign, Salesforce, and Coupa. Since its Series B round in late 2024, the company has experienced more than 450% annual growth, tripled its staff, and plans to accelerate hiring and product development with the new funds. The company’s total raised now stands at about $210 million.
As AI continues to expand, efficient management of cloud and compute resources will be increasingly important, and ScaleOps aims to lead the way with its autonomous platform.
