The standout capability is Codex's new background mode. Now, Codex can open desktop apps, operate the cursor, and type or click—empowering it to handle tasks without disrupting what users are doing. Multiple agents can run simultaneously, acting as behind-the-scenes coding assistants. This means you can continue your work while Codex automates tasks such as updating front-end code, testing apps, or interacting with applications lacking an API.

In-App Browsing and Expanded Capabilities
