ChatGPT finally offers $100/month Pro plan
OpenAI has introduced a new $100 per month Pro plan for ChatGPT, aimed at users who need greater coding capacity through Codex. This addition provides a significant step up from the lower-priced tiers and is designed to compete with rival offerings like Anthropic's Claude. Power users can now access 5x more Codex resources compared to the $20 Plus plan.

ChatGPT finally offers $100/month Pro plan

OpenAI launches much-anticipated $100 Pro tier

OpenAI has unveiled a new $100 per month Pro subscription for ChatGPT, addressing the demands of developers and power users who require robust coding assistance. With this launch, OpenAI's subscription lineup now includes:

  • Free (with ads)
  • Go ($8/month) (with ads)
  • Plus ($20/month) (ad-free)
  • Pro ($100/month) (ad-free)
  • Pro Max ($200/month) (ad-free, higher limits, still available but not publicly listed)

The new $100 Pro plan is positioned to deliver five times more Codex capabilities compared to the Plus plan, supporting users during high-intensity coding sessions. OpenAI has clarified that while unlimited usage isn’t offered, the Pro tiers substantially increase coding limits, with the $200 option providing even more headroom for demanding workflows.

Why introduce the $100 plan?

OpenAI launched this pricing to match competition from Anthropic’s Claude, which has long offered a $100 monthly plan. According to OpenAI, the new Pro tier provides more coding throughput per dollar, especially noticeable during periods of heavy use.

Special offer: Higher limits through May 31

For a limited time, the $100 plan will feature increased Codex thresholds until May 31. Users are advised that these enhanced rates are temporary and may be reduced after the initial period.

More than 3 million Codex users worldwide

Codex adoption continues to accelerate, now serving over 3 million weekly users — a fivefold increase in three months, with usage growing more than 70% month over month.
