ByteDance’s new AI video generation model, Dreamina Seedance 2.0, comes to CapCut
ByteDance Introduces Dreamina Seedance 2.0 in CapCut
ByteDance has officially begun deploying its advanced AI-based video and audio creation model, Dreamina Seedance 2.0, into its editing tool CapCut. Unlike traditional methods, creators can use simple text prompts, images, or reference videos to draft, edit, and synchronize content. This phased rollout starts in Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, with more countries to follow.
Advanced Video Generation Features
Dreamina Seedance 2.0 can generate high-quality video scenes from just a few words, without needing reference images. The model excels at producing lifelike textures, movements, and lighting across a variety of angles. It is also useful for testing concepts, editing scenes, and enhancing creators' own footage.
- Supports videos up to 15 seconds
- Works across six aspect ratios
- Ideal for tutorials, product demos, fitness, and action-oriented content
Safety and Usage Controls
ByteDance has implemented safeguards to prevent the generation of content based on real faces or unauthorized intellectual property. All AI-generated videos will carry an invisible watermark, aiding in content identification and compliance with rights holders. The company is working with creative communities and experts to enhance the technology’s capabilities over time.
The rollout focuses on select regions, likely due to ongoing concerns around intellectual property raised by media and industry groups. In China, Dreamina Seedance 2.0 is already available within ByteDance's Jianying app.
Feature Availability
In CapCut, the model will enhance both editing features (such as AI Video) and video generation tools, and will also be introduced on ByteDance’s platforms like Dreamina and Pippit.
